Woman’s Club Brings Holiday Boutique to Clubhouse

First published in the Nov. 5 print issue of the South Pasadena Review.

The Woman’s Club of South Pasadena will host its Holiday Boutique Saturday, Nov. 27, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the historic Clubhouse, located at 1424 Fremont Ave.
San Gabriel Valley crafters and artisans from foothill communities will participate in the event.

A variety of handmade items, including handbags, custom jewelry, wood toys, scrapbooking materials, festive candles, woven scarves and eco-friendly soaps and cosmetics will be available. There also will be colorful wreaths and holiday-baked goods, gourmet jams and salsas. A percentage of the proceeds from the boutique will support club charities and the scholarship fund for high school students. The Woman’s Club, a nonprofit organization, has been an active philanthropic and service organization since its founding in 1899. The Boutique and Christmas Store is held annually, but had to be cancelled last year due to COVID. Boutique chair Ann Moffet-Close enthusiastically welcomes all ages to table hop and shop for their holiday gifts. She said shoppers won’t have to worry about empty shelves as there are no supply chain shortages, just handmade creative craft items.
The Clubhouse, a cultural heritage landmark built in 1913 by architect Norman Foote Marsh, will be festively decorated for the holidays.
Guests can plan to have a fun day of shopping with cheerful holiday music in the warm and colorful ambience of the historic Clubhouse. A light lunch in the dining room will be offered from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and a raffle of holiday gifts will also be held throughout the day. Children will also have an opportunity to meet Santa by the Clubhouse fireplace throughout the day.
