Vienna Holiday Concerts to Begin Dec. 17

The New Hollywood String Quartet — the quartet in residence at the Restoration Concert Series — is featuring the music of Vienna with three concerts at the Huntington Library, Dec. 17-19.
The performances, part of the Vienna Holiday Concerts, will be in Rothenberg Hall at 8 p.m.

The quartet and cellist Robert deMaine, will perform W.A. Mozart’s Divertimento in D Major and Franz Schubert’s Quintet in C Major on Dec. 17, and Mozart’s Quartet in G Major and Schubert’s Quartet in D Minor on Dec. 18.
The New Hollywood String Quartet, along with pianist Fabio Bidini and David Grossmann on contrabass, will showcase Mozart’s Quartet in C Major and Schubert’s Quintet in A Major and Schubert’s Quintet in A Major (The Trout), Dec. 19.
Tickets are $50 for each individual concert, which start at 8 p.m. on Dec. 17 and 18, and 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 19. Concertgoers can purchase a package of three concerts for $120 — a 20% discount.

The New Hollywood String Quartet, for the 15th year continues to be the quartet in residence at the Restoration Concert Series, held in the Community Room of the South Pasadena Public Library.
The quartet will also perform at the Summer of Vienna Chamber Music Festival at the Rothenberg Hall of the Huntington Library, July 12-17.
Violinists Tereza Stanislav and Robert Brophy, both members of the string quartet, are residents of South Pasadena as is pianist Fabio Bidini, who plays with the quartet on Dec. 19. The other two members of the quartet are violinist Rafael Rishnik and cellist Andrew Shulman.
