If you’re looking to remodel or upgrade your bathroom or kitchen, Mission West Kitchen and Bath is a trusted resource in the local community. Founded in 2005, the business is located next door to its sister company, Mission Tile West, which has been around since 1984.

“It was a natural progression for us to expand and offer a kitchen and bath store to accompany our tile,” said Director of Marketing Katherine Adamson. “When the building next door to Mission Tile West came on the market, my husband renovated it so that we could provide that whole shopping experience where clients and come in and purchase tile, along with plumbing, hardware, lighting and countertops.”

Back when Adamson’s husband, Thano, was studying economics at the University of California, Los Angeles, he accompanied his parents on a trip to Mexico to visit family. While there, his uncle mentioned that he needed someone to sell the high-quality Mexican tile that he produced at his factory—and shortly after, Thano started a tile business with the help of his parents. Over the years, Mission Tile West continued to expand, which eventually led to the opening of a Santa Monica showroom, followed by a store in Costa Mesa.

Mission West Kitchen and Bath provides clients with easy access to everything they need in order to complete a kitchen or bath remodel, accompanied by a high level of personalized service. The company also employs a skilled sales staff and design consultants that are always available to help clients with their needs.

“We’re very service-oriented and everyone works together as a team,” explained Adamson. “If the sales person that a client has been working with is busy or on their day off, another sales person will jump right in and there won’t be any questions about it. We want to make sure you’re taken care of. We also have an incredible manager, Adrienna Hanna, who does an amazing job. One of our sons, who has been working for Mission Tile in Costa Mesa, is now going to oversee our manufacturing, and he is doing a fantastic job as well.”

When it comes to products, Mission West Kitchen and Bath offers a wide variety of high-quality brands, ensuring that clients have plenty of options. For plumbing fixtures, they carry three very strong California-made companies: California Faucets, Newport Brass and Sigma Designer Faucetry. They also sell lighting from companies such as Feiss and Visual Comfort in addition to specialty brands that include Arroyo Craftsman, Fine Art Lamps and Hammerton.

“For bigger jobs, we’ll come out, do all the measurements, and create a quote for you,” said Adamson. “We have designers who can help you feel confident about your selections, but if you’re already confident, we can help you make the right decisions, coordinate the design of your house, make sure that everything is the right size and dimensions, the right plumbing and so forth. We help our clients stay organized and create good communication with their contractor. We never hurry our clients—we sit down with them, go over everything and gravitate towards the vendors they like. We don’t push vendors on anyone. We like to steer our clients in the direction of companies that offer good quality products and great customer service, but other than that, we’re going to do what the clients want.”

Another area that Mission West Kitchen and Bath specializes in is hardware, and customers can choose from different designs in brass, iron, bronze—even quartz. They also offer bath tubs and kitchen countertops, and one of the more unique brands they carry is Big Chill, which features different-sized refrigerators and other kitchen appliances in retro styles and colors.

“Clients love the atmosphere when they come here,” said Adamson. “Remodeling a kitchen or bathroom is already difficult enough on its own, and when clients come in nervous or want to make sure that they’re making the right decision, it’s our job to help put them at ease and share the knowledge and expertise that we have. I love meeting with clients and talking with them. It’s so fun working on the design process and seeing the development of a beautiful new bathroom or kitchen. Our customers are please and happy with their selections, and they’re happy with us because we’ve done the best job that we could, which makes me feel the most joy.”
