South Pasadena High School’s varsity girls’ basketball team has been idle for over a month since defeating Redondo Union of Redondo Beach, 53-49, in the 26th annual Gary Houston Classic championship game at El Monte Arroyo on Dec. 11.
The Tigers opened Rio Hondo League play by hosting Temple City on Wednesday, Jan. 12; the result was unavailable by the Review’s press deadline.
South Pasadena is scheduled to visit Pasadena Blair for its second league game on Friday, Jan. 14, at 5:15 p.m.
BOYS’ BASKETBALL
The Tigers boys’ team has been idle since defeating Granada Hills Kennedy in the second round of their SoCal Christmas Classic on Dec. 28.
