SPFD Responds to Smoke Coming from Storm Drains

At around 8:30 a.m. Memorial Day, the South Pasadena Fire Department responded to complaints of smoke coming from the storm drains on either side of the roadway in the 1800 block of Laurel Street. The storm drains are pictured to the left and to the right of fire engine 81. It took only minutes to extinguish the smoke. There were no reports of injury and the cause is under investigation.
