Special Needs Conference Saturday

Please join us for our free 5th Special Needs Conference on March 3 from 8:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. at South Pasadena High School, 1401 Fremont Ave.

This conference serves parents of students with special needs, teachers and other professionals, and interested community members in the district and surrounding communities. All are welcome: panels on managing behavior, attention issues, and pragmatics, for example, can be applied in any classroom. Parents and educators will learn how to find, fund and coordinate services; deal with challenging behavior; explore pathways after high school; teach and practice social communication; and understand and manage attention issues.

For the first time, we will be offering simultaneous interpretation into Mandarin and Spanish for the high-interest panels (find, fund and coordinate services; and dealing with challenging behavior). Registration is required for interpretation services. Please register by Feb. 20 at www.spp4snc.com/conference.

An information fair will also take place, featuring representatives from organizations that provide services and support to the special needs community.
