South Pasadena will have three polling places open for the special election coming up this Tuesday, Nov. 5 – not just two, as the city previously announced.
The city had distributed voting information on Thursday that included just two polling locations – the War Memorial Building and the Library Community Room.
But city officials said Friday they have since learned of a third location – the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, located at 1919 Huntington Drive.
In a news release, city spokesman John Pope said the Huntington Drive location had not been included in correspondence from the county.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at these locations:
- War Memorial Building, 435 Fair Oaks Ave.
- Library Community Room, 1115 El Centro St.
- Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1919 Huntington Drive.
In addition, Vote-By-Mail ballots can be returned in three ways:
* They can be returned in the regular mail (no postage necessary).
* They can be returned to the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall, 1414 Mission St., second floor, from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
* Or they can be returned to any of the official Vote By Mail Ballot Drop Off Locations within L.A. County. Those locations can be found here.
South Pas voters will decide on two ballot measures in Tuesday’s special election – Measure A and Measure C.
Measure A, if approved, would impose a three-quarter-cent local sales tax. Measure C, if approved, would eliminate the elected city clerk’s position and replace it with an appointed clerk.
