For a very good cause, the South Pasadena Police are asking people to think pink.
The department is one of numerous law-enforcement agencies in the area collaborating with the Los Angeles County Police Chiefs’ Association in selling pink-colored patches bearing the name and logo of the force.
“The Pink Patch Project” is designed to raise money and awareness in the fight against breast cancer.
Patches cost $10 each, with all benefits going toward cancer treatment, research and education.
The patches were on sale at last week’s “National Night Out” in Garfield Park, with Det. Mike Palmieri (pictured) pushing the project to the hundreds of residents who gathered.
The patches can also be purchased at the police station lobby at 1422 Mission St.
