In a private ceremony this morning for the City Council and city employees, the new South Pasadena Police Chief Joe Ortiz was sworn into his new job. His official start date is today, April 1. Ortiz replaced Art Miller, who left back in August of last year to be the police chief in Peoria, Arizona.
