American Songwriter Magazine called Bow Thayer “the best artist to come from New England in recent years.” He has pursued a creative vision to lead Americana and folk music into the future. His most recent album, A Better Version of the Truth, is an unflinching testament to his bass player, Alex Abraham, who suddenly left this world soon after his parts were recorded. Bow has now returned to the road from his home above Vermont’s White River to share those songs and others from his acclaimed body of work. Nels Andrews was born near some water, then, for a long time, lived in a desert near some chile peppers. In between he planted trees. Then he was in a tall city. Now he’s back near the sea. He likes the way stories sound when they’re sung. He was a winner at Kerrville, Telluride, and Mountain Stage songwriter competitions.
