SPHS 1st Health Fair
March 23, 2018 @ 11:40 am - 12:20 pm
March 23 | 11:40am – 12:20pm
Founder and president of the Tiger Medicine club at SPHS, Sarah Uriarte, will be hosting the school’s first health fair on March 23, 2018.
This health fair is for Sarah’s Girl Scout Gold Award community service project, which aims to educate teens on the importance of good health. Students, unfortunately, deal with many issues pertaining to their mental and physical health – with stress, depression, sleep deprivation, a lack of physical activity, and poor nutrition being fairly common ones. Representatives from over 15 local health organizations will be interacting with students through various activities, demonstrations, and displays to address these issues at the fair during their lunchtime. They will provide students with educational handouts and informational pamphlets that will enable them to combat these problems and lead healthier lives. “Health is something I am strongly passionate about, which is why I am working so hard to improve healthy habits within the community,” said Sarah Uriarte.
