Rupert Wates was born in London and studied at Oxford University. He was a finalist this year in the prestigious Kerrville New Folk songwriter competition, and an Emerging Artist at Falcon Ridge Folk Festival. A full time singer-songwriter since the late 1990s, he is now based in New York City and Colorado. His music is an eclectic mix of acoustic and melodic folk with jazz flavors. Singer-songwriter, guitarist, poet, and astronomy nut, Shubhangi Joshi, hails from the Indian city of Mumbai. A self taught musician, her distinctive sound has garnered positive press from leading music magazines. Her music cuts across geographies, appealing to music lovers beyond borders. Having collaborated with musicians from over 20 nations across Europe, the US, and South Asia, she is inspired and influenced by a wide variety of genres, from flamenco to Indian folk.
