Whether you lack a washing machine at home, wish that you could get your laundry done faster or don’t have time to wash your clothes, Clean Bubbles Laundromat has something to offer everyone.
Open since January, the friendly neighborhood laundromat offers a wide range of amenities designed to make the customer experience efficient and enjoyable.
“I live in the area so that’s one of the big reasons I wanted to open this business,” said Imran Chaudhry, owner of Clean Bubbles Laundromat. “Doing laundry is a necessity in people’s lives and I spent a lot of time learning what people’s needs were. My background is in technology so we have all of the latest machines here.”
The laundromat’s washing machines are organized into different sections and can accommodate multiple machine loads, depending on each customer’s needs.
“Washing machines come in different shapes and sizes, so I wanted to make sure there was a wide variety available for everyone, from individuals bringing in small loads to families with large comforters,” said Chaudhry.
“The 80-pound machines are the largest we have and can take up to eight machine loads at once, so those are great if you have comforters and heavy-duty items. The 60-pound machines are for big items like bed sheets and mattress covers, while the 20-, 30- and 40-pound machines can handle mixed loads of day-to-day items.”
Featuring the latest technology, all of the washing machines absorb water from clothes more efficiently than older models to cut down drying time. There are also two types of dryers available: 30- and 45-pound machines, depending on how big loads are. All of the machines accept coins and credit cards, adding to the convenience factor.
“A lot of places only have machines that take coins or they have their own laundry card system,” explained Chaudhry. “Here, you just come in, swipe your credit card and you’re good to go. We also have a change machine if you need coins.”
For customers who forget their laundry supplies at home, Clean Bubbles Laundromat has a vending machine that carries different products and brands that have been highly requested by customers and they’re available in single and multiple-use sizes. There are also snack and drink vending machines for those who get hungry or thirsty, and a full-time attendant is on site in the mornings and evenings.
“Our morning attendant is here starting at 10 a.m. every day,” said Chaudhry. “Our contact information is listed on the wall in case someone wants to speak to the manager or needs additional assistance. We will make sure to address your needs right away.”
For those who don’t have the time to do laundry, Clean Bubbles offers a Fluff & Fold service, where customers can drop their items off and have them washed, folded and bagged — then pick them up within 24 hours or same-day for an additional charge.
Fluff & Fold services are available between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. daily, and prices are competitive to other places, making it an easy and affordable option.
The laundromat also has work stations where customers can charge their phones or plug in computers if they need to get work done. To enhance the atmosphere, Chaudhry hired an artist to come in and paint various scenes from South Pasadena on the walls.
“The artwork depicts everything from the Rialto Theatre to the library,” Chaudhry pointed out. “It creates a more welcoming environment that is also very specific to the local community. You can come in and just enjoy the art or have a conversation with someone about it.”
To keep customers entertained while they wash their clothes, there are televisions on the walls that play movies throughout the day. There are also security cameras and bright lights that go on at night, which were added to help customers feel safe.
“We always want to be able to help our customers,” said Chaudhry. “People of all ages and backgrounds come in here on a regular basis and spend multiple hours here. They get to know each other and it’s become a community. We service a common need and create an experience that customers enjoy so they look forward to coming back in again.
