Rep. Judy Chu issued a statement Thursday touting her support of House Resolution 660, which begins public hearings as the next phase of the impeachment inquiry into President Trump.
“Now that both Democratic and Republican members of the relevant committees have had opportunities to question witnesses about classified information, it is time to make the case to the public,’’ Chu said.
“In the coming weeks, the American people will be presented with evidence that President Trump withheld aid to Ukraine while demanding an investigation into a political rival. …
“There is one question that everybody will have to answer: Is it acceptable for the president to use congressionally approved foreign aid as leverage to extort election help from a foreign power? The answer is a clear no.”
Trump denies any quid pro quo was at play when he spoke with the Ukrainian president by phone in July.
