
A news conference has been scheduled at 6 p.m. today in front of South Pasadena City Hall where it is anticipated to be announced that a wrongful death lawsuit has been filed or is going to be filed against the city and the So Pas Police Department over the officer involved shooting last August that took the life of Vanessa Marquez, according to published news reports on KNBC as well as other websites.
Marquez was shot and killed by So Pas police Aug. 30, 2018, after she apparently pointed a replica handgun at police that resulted in an officer involved shooting, according to officials.
Marquez was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead, according to authorities.
There is no more information available at this time regarding the scheduled press conference.
