The South Pasadena Unified School District Board of Education recently acknowledged all of the district’s teachers of the year at a board meeting, bringing everyone together to receive their plaques and celebrate the accolade. Recipients included Sharon Reed, a 4th-grade teacher at Arroyo Vista Elementary School; Kristen Kato, a 2nd-grade teacher at Marengo Elementary School; Christina Torres, a kindergarten teacher at Monterey Hills Elementary School; Julie Ryu, an English teacher at South Pasadena Middle School; and Katy Jaroch, an English teacher at South Pasadena High School. Additionally, the Oneonta Club recognized Yvonne Carlson and Dean McCoy as its elementary and secondary teachers of the year, respectively.
